Things to do in Georgetown
Georgetown is the quiet end of the Grand Strand. Founded in 1729, it is one of South Carolina's oldest port cities, with a walkable historic district along the Sampit River, a Harborwalk, and several museums.
Visitors come for history, the Lowcountry rice-plantation story, and boat tours of the surrounding waterways and Winyah Bay. It is about a 45-minute drive from central Myrtle Beach, so most people give it a half or full day.
